Lovebox Festival

The hottest street style trends to emerge from the London music festival

The brainchild of Groove Armada and Jools, Lovebox festival hit the London music scene with a bang back in 2002. Beginning as a simple record box, the concept evolved from there into an album, before hitting the club scene as a one-stop party destination. The combination of its ever-growing reputation and solid musical line-up saw the club night explode into a festival favourite in 2005, taking over Victoria Park for a two day residency every July.  Although no longer under Groove Armada’s wing, the festival still provides endless inspiration for music lovers and festival fashion spotters.

Trendstop’s team headed down to the opening day of Lovebox to bring our blog readers an exclusive insight into the trending looks from the London festival.

First spotted in our trending at Glastonbury blog post, Glitter Carnival continues to have a massive impact on the festival fashion scene at Lovebox. Carnival and disco inspirations merge in this statement festival trend, as iridescent and metallic sequins embellish simple silhouettes. Enhancing the ‘more is more’ attitude of this look, heavy glitter applications contour the eyes and cheekbones, completed by chunky stick-on gems.

Jungle Tropics

Lush tropical foliage and fruits bring an exotic mood to Lovebox festival. Touching upon our Palm Springs retail trend, dense jungle prints decorate flowing, oversized shirts to create the ultimate tropical statement piece. This look can also be incorporated through kitsch accessories such as this woven pineapple bag, infusing looks with a sense of nostalgic tropicalia.

Tinted Round Frames

John Lennon sunglasses receive a contemporary update in Tinted Round Frames. These vintage frames deliver some serious style to festival looks, elevating casual styling with an ultra-cool aesthetic. Mirrored and ombré tinted lens intensify the look, complimented by stylish thin wire frames. Take this emerging direction to the next level with exaggerated frame detailing.

Street Ready Utility

The inner city look infiltrates Lovebox this year, making way for a more street-driven festival look. Branded track pants and urban pool sliders are paired with utility belt bags, resulting in a harmonising hybridisation of styles. Camouflage patterns are modernised through a Rich Denim Ink palette, whilst monochrome outfits look to washed acidic shades for a statement colour pop. Borrow inspiration from singers such as MØ for a continuation of this youth orientated trend.
