The Spring/Summer 2018 premium menswear show with a womenswear debut

This July, a selection of nearly 300 like-minded contemporary & streetwear brands showcased their Spring/Summer 2018 offerings within the beautiful warehouse space of the Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane, London, at the Jacket Required trade show.

The show has now evolved from 30 exhibitors to an established must-go for discovering new and prominent labels. A mix of British and international carefully considered labels, including streetwear, contemporary fashion, denim, footwear and accessories.

Intro

This season, aside from all the exciting menswear collections, Jacket Required also welcomed its very first womenswear edit – a move that mirrors the ever-evolving trend for mixed gender catwalk shows. The curation strived a balance between brands with a point of difference and classic styles.

Huez

Huez is an emerging style-conscious and innovative cycling brand. The creators of Huez aim to create technical garments that help to enhance cycling performance in all conditions by looking at the latest in garment construction technology and internationally sourcing the most advanced fabrics.

This water resistant tech hoodie and world’s lightest Japanese rip-stop gilet that glows in the dark are our absolute favourites.

Good News

Launched only in 2016, Good News has brought some great news to the world of footwear with their unisex baseball sneakers. The London-based brand is looking to create a positive change in the world by ethically monitoring their fair trade and supply chain. Good News also collaborate with charities that share mutual values aiming to engage target audiences and communities to raise awareness on issues that they are passionate about.

This season’s design is inspired by vintage baseball cards and retro colour blockings, using velvet qualities and fly knits.

Ice Play

Ice Play was a key brand to showcase their womenswear collection alongside their menswear range at Jacket Required. The label showcases a fresh new take on easy style from its iconic sibling brand Iceberg. It’s all about sportswear taking a different route. Ice Play reflects an energetic and rebellious side with its signature playful colours, prints and pop culture. It’s adventurous and cool that’s fresh for the eye.

90’s Active

Let’s hit the 90’s wardrobe! As Trendstop have been tracking on the catwalks, brands are bringing back their original trackie designs for S/S 2018. 90’s sport vibes rule the colour palette as athleisure stripes and logo prints become key features. Worn jerseys and nylon qualities nod to a relaxed fit to round up this street-cool look.

Hawaiian Florals

As we identified in our menswear catwalk overviews, a selection of Hawaiian shirts and accessories for Spring/Summer 2018 are fast becoming summer essentials. Striking tropical floral prints with a summery finish on short sleeved buttons ups, caps and socks are showing off a holiday spirit and preppy fun appeal.

The Slogan Drop

In times of digitalism and free speech, bold statements are continuously occurring. This is evolving across streetwear through fun and sharp slogans on tees, sweats and accessories to elevate basics. Silhouettes stay true to streetwear classics. This trend validates Trendstop’s Spring/Summer 2018 Forecast Theme.

Refined Cargo

Utility concepts across the menswear market remain a key theme for Spring/Summer 2018. This season it’s elevated by a refined approach, using a forest inspired colour palette of enhanced khakis and natural tones. Utility pockets and nouveau fastening details are featured on both apparel and accessories.
