Stone Island joins forces with NikeLab again for a brand new collaboration.
Following from the success of their previous collaborations NikeLab and Stone Island come together again, but this time instead of outerwear they are releasing a refreshed interpretation of the popular Nike Sock Dart trainer.
With the perfect balance of the NikeLab aesthetic and Stone Islands knowledge of new technology and sense of functionality this collaborative project is set to be a sure fire hit with any footwear enthusiasts.
Stone Island created focused research into testing new fabrications, technologies and updated the original aesthetics of the Nike Sock Dart to ensure that the design was as functional as possible, yet still ensuring it features the latest technology.
The Sock Dart update has a mid-cut silhouette, and created in an engineered zonal silicone print, which adds structure and a sense of protection to hyper-stretch mesh on the upper of the shoe, whilst maintaining the flexibility that is a signature feature of the original Sock Dart style. The outsole is created by new Duralon foam, while the forefoot is crafted with a multidirectional pattern that allows water dispersion generally better tread over different surfaces. Visually the shoe has a strong graphic look with a dissolving degrade on the upper and multi-tonal components.
NikeLab and Stone Islands collaborative past
For three previous seasons NikeLab and Stone Island have collaborated to create windrunners. These previous products demonstrate the brands equilibrium, seeing both individually strong brands interlink and heighten the key attributes that both of them posses and use them to create functional, yet high performance pieces that still maintain a strong sense of style within their contemporary aesthetic.
