Lululemon have taken centre stage in London’s prime shopping hub with a new concept store in Regent Street. We attended the media preview last night to investigate how the largest Lululemon in Europe, second in the world only to the New York Flagship aims to bring a feeling of calm and serenity to the West End.
The third window display showcases a collaboration with MA fashion students from Central St Martins. Mannequins stretch and contort into seeming impossible positions, until you spot live models scattered around the store displaying such moves. This impressive interactive and athletic model display causes quite a stir with the vast brushed concrete stairs as a backdrop.
The upstairs community area boasts a chill-out café and floor space which will provide an arena for free classes rivalling their neighbours Nike Town a few doors up.
Although the areas were packed with cocktails, canapés, yoga experts and media types last night, Lululemon have made a calming haven for shoppers and athleisure-aholic alike amongst the heave-ho of the West End. Their ‘Mediation Om the Move’ double-decker bus however aims to bring calm and focus to Londoners tackling their daily commute-now that is a challenge!
The store opens officially today 12/01/17
