From April 2016, a comprehensive fashion showcase set over several centuries will go on display at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris,as part of the 30th anniversary celebrations of the museum’s fashion collection. Fashion Forward – Three Centuries of Fashion will chart style history from 1715 to 2015, showcasing approximately 300 articles of men’s, women’s and children’s attire, including pieces from the museum’s jewel collection and influential looks from the national costume and textile collection. Arranged in chronological order, works will be presented in the museum’s The Nave space for the first time, taking the viewer on a journey through key fashion moments both historic and contemporary.
The exhibition will be sponsored by Swedish high street retailer H&M, who will coincide the opening with a new Conscious Exclusive range of nostalgic yet glamorous pieces inspired by the museum’s archives, featuring model Julia Restoin Roitfeld as the face of the collection.
Fashion Forward – Three Centuries of Fashion runs from April 7 2016 – August 14 2016 at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris.
