Diesel’s creative director Nicola Formichetti has launched his fourth Diesel Tribute Collection called SPORT #2, inspired by iconic pieces from the denim brand’s archives. For the latest range, Formichetti aimed to create a contemporary take on sport; a key inspiration for the Italian label since its early days.
SPORT #2 is a young and rebellious collection, combining a distinctly 90’s aesthetic with utilitarian and military references for an interesting twist. Slim-fit crew neck knits, sharp-shouldered double-breasted coats and capes with fur collars all work in an army green tone, featuring contrasting geometric details in bright shades of neon pink, purple and electric blue. Other highlights in the range include digitally printed nylon bomber jackets in graphic colour combinations, styled with matching pants and sports bags.
Diesel Tribute Collection SPORT #2 by Nicola Formichetti was first previewed exclusively at the London Show Rooms in collaboration with the British Fashion Council (BFC) from 4 to 11 March 2015 in Paris. The collection will be sold from September 2015 in selected stores worldwide.
