In their first venture into ready-to-wear clothing, ethical footwear brand Toms has collaborated with & Other Stories, launching a laid-back and care-free collection that gives back.
TOMS founder Blake Mycoskie launched TOMS in 2006 after witnessing the struggles of children living with no shoes. The company created One for One, promising to match every pair of shoes sold, and donate a pair to someone in need.
The Magic Bus Foundation is an India based company, founded in 1999 to help to break the poverty cycle that many children find themselves in. Through a fun and games based curriculum, the programme aims to educate these children, giving them essential life skills and knowledge to grow up and move out of poverty.
The & Other Stories collaboration is building on TOMS philanthropic ethos. For every piece from the collection sold, & Other Stories is aiding the Magic Bus’ Women’s Scholarship Fund by supporting a month of English language classes.
In keeping with TOMS’ relaxed vibe, the collection has a “free-spirited aesthetic”, combining neutral bases colours with pops of red and orange; perfect for the upcoming summer season. The lightweight fabrics make the pieces beach and festival ready, with embroidered detailing and subtle prints giving the collection a high quality feel that & Other Stories is famous for.
The collection also features a series of traditional TOMS shoes; reworked to reflect the laid-back Californian lifestyle the collaboration has been inspired by.
When will the collaboration be available to buy?
The collection is available now both online and in store, with prices ranging from between £17 – £95.
