Leading trade shows Who’s Next and Premiere Classe returned to Porte de Versailles for the Fall/Winter 2016-17 season, drawing thousands of buyers, press and industry professionals to Paris to discover a wealth of exciting new apparel and accessories trends. Trendstop’s team were at hand to report on the latest developments unfolding on the trade show floor.
At Who’s Next, a selection of emerging design talent was showcased at ‘The Future of Fashion’ initiative, giving new designers an international platform for their collections in collaboration with Not Just a Label. The programme’s second edition featured innovative designs and prints from brands like Belgium-based I Lke Cop, ready-to-wear designer Natalia Sushenko and concept brand Maryme-Jimmypaul.
Next door at Premiere Classe, the art of hand-making and crafting was celebrated with an exhibition of playful knitted sculptures and crocheted works from such artists as Ketty Sean and Phil Ferguson. On the stands, craft met tech at Bernie Mev with hand-woven shoes incorporating memory foam technology, while eyewear brand Parafina’s presented attendees with the durable yet buoyant properties of their carved bamboo frames.
