Pantone have long been associated the go to company for all-things colour and they have now extended their foray into footwear, creating a capsule collection, to be released for Spring/Summer 2016.
Designed with their ‘Let Colours Rule’ philosophy, the brand has chosen to release a series of shoe concepts within a capsule collection as a more long-lasting approach than a structured season-specific range.
In what the brand believes is to serve as the ultimate form of self-expression, the capsule collection aims to use unexpected colour throughout, be it through application or unusual combinations. A variety of application techniques are used in applying the colour, such as painted statement blocking being sprayed directly onto materials, and their unique approach of embedding the colour into the rubber compound used to form part of the shoe, which can then be built up in layers to create a gradient effect.
The collection will consist of a variety of timeless silhouettes, including their cup-sole tennis inspired, sports sneakers, vulcanised sole and pool sliders. In addition, a limited edition Fujiyama style will be released that has been exclusively crafted in Japan, featuring their patented colour application technology.
Completed with Pantone references from monochrome and metallic’s to primary bright’s, the collection perfectly encapsulates the Pantone ethos, harmoniously combining minimalism with colour throughout.
