Key Festival Street Style Trends for Spring/Summer 2015 – Glastonbury

As the 2015 music festival season continues, Glastonbury’s infamous extravaganza comes to an end for another year in the UK. Free-spirited trend-setters celebrated in rain, mud and sun alike, showing off a range of inspirational street style looks made up of creative accessories, innovative styling and standout clothing. With our global team of trend-spotters, the Trendstop experts report on the latest developments emerging from the world’s major festivals, analysing which essential trends are likely to develop and affect both fast fashion and high summer festival collections. This week, fresh from the arena at Worthy Farm, Glastonbury, Trendstop readers are presented with four striking and fashion-forward festival street style trends for both men’s and womenswear.

GLASTONBURY 2015

Summer Sparkle

Garments shimmer and shine in the summer sun, as festival-goers update their look with a range of sparkling styles. A key trend for casual jackets, we see bikers incorporate all-over golden sequins, as other styles contrast embellished sleeves with a plain matte body. Meanwhile, sequinned mini dresses make a statement with colourful tribal patterns, echoed with matching makeup.

Festival Globe-Trotter

Glastonbury men looked to travel for inspiration, creating a look of the Festival Globe-Trotter. Africana print shirts are paired with color pop shorts, while smart wardrobe staples like button-down shirts and deck shoes are styled with patterned totes and baggy ethnic pants. Tropical snapback caps look new when worn with paisley scarf underlays, which also help shield the back of the neck from the hot sun.

Statement Sunnies

A new essential for any festival trend-setter, we see sunglasses revamped with big, bold designs. Oversized proportions are key, as black-out lenses incorporate stark frames and heart-shapes styles appear with flip-up constructions. Mirrored effects were also a popular look at Glastonbury this year, complete with colorful tints.

The Belt Bag

Combining fashion with function, these hands-free belt bag accessories offer a fun new addition to the festival wardrobe. Multicoloured canvas inspires retro sport styles by use of blocking and contrast details, while black leather shapes crete attitude with metal stud embellishment. Photoreal graphics lend a quirky feel with body part imagery.
