What to Expect at Women’s Fashion Week S/S15

The new women’s fashion week season is about to begin, much to the excitement of industry professionals and style lovers around the world. Starting with New York, before heading to London, Milan and Paris, designers will be showcasing their new Spring/Summer 2015 collections on the catwalks. Trendstop’s team of trend experts will be present at each fashion capital to report on all the latest styles and trends – and today, they’re here to give you a preview taster of what to expect on the runways.

From September 4-11 (New York), 12-16 (London), 17-23 (Milan) and finally September 23-October 1 (Paris), each city will set the stage for a huge array of ready-to-wear labels, ranging from the fashion house giants to more up-and-coming brands. At NYFW, look out for new styles from DKNY and Calvin Klein, while Burberry and Ashish promise big things at LFW. In Milan, Jil Sander and Prada are frequent favourites, as Dior, Chanel and Givenchy will be hitting the catwalks in Paris.

And it’s not just the runways that will see all the fashion action – our street style spotters will also be at hand to snap cool looks emerging from the trend-setting editors and style fans who appear en masse to watch the shows. All this month, Trendstop will be publishing inspirational street style trends in our reports and galleries!

To whet your appetite in advance of all the new Spring/Summer 2015 catwalk styles, read on and be inspired with three trends extracted from last season’s Fall/Winter 2014 coverage by Trendstop.

1) Top 10 Colour: Emerald (Paris)

Luxuriant Emerald green strikes with visual force for a statement look that is both buoyant and smart. Add pops on a clutch or sparkly bangles, or break it up with contrasting bands or lace-up coats. Alternatively, try mixing with knit or satin and plastic accents, while bottoms include horizontal striped leggings and portfolio skirts.

2) Top 10 Print: Upholstery Florals (London)

Florals flourish for Fall/Winter with vintage upholstery inspirations, furnishing apparel with a quirky femininity. Large-scale prints are refreshed with aquatic blue pops on sportswear styles, as Eastern-esque flowers are spliced with textured appliqué. Tropical hibiscus transitions from Summer with bold colorways.

3) Top 20 Clothing: Loose-Fit Shell Dress (Milan)

Both easygoing and elegant, shell dresses are refreshed with loose-fit shapes for the Fall/Winter 2014-15 season. Textured woolens feel ultra-cozy in simple cream colors, as tonal pattern placements add interest in pure white. More striking, we see photoreal leopard print or oversized pink-tinged bloom repeats.
