Freedom at Topshop has revealed the debut collection to come out of their new collaboration with prestigious London arts university Central Saint Martins, created by up-and-coming student designer Evie Armstrong-Clarke. An expert panel was formed to find the brightest star on the CSM BA Jewellery Design course, with jewellery designer Solange Azagury-Partridge working alongside Topshop Unique head of design Emma Farrow, Freedom at Topshop buying director Vivien Thomason and a number of other industry insiders to select the perfect design partner for the high street brand. With her inspiring proposal of a wearable collection inspired by the architecture and urbanisation of London, Evie was chosen as the standout candidate – her designs have now been realised as a new six-piece range.
Evie’s London Skyline collection encompasses styles in three different colours, all sharing a distinctive composition of jagged acrylic and curb chains. Evie took concepts of translucency, form and dialogue with light from new buildings like The Shard, applying them with angular fragments of clear and coloured acrylic to form ultra-modern jewellery pieces. Prices range from £14.50 ($24) to £35 ($56), and the collection is available to buy in selected Topshop stores and online now.
