BA (Hons) Fashion Jewelry at London College of Fashion.
I have developed my own style of design based on organic life and shapes taken from nature, combined with a mystical element of life forms from outer space. This unique combination has led to a creative graduate project which I am very proud to present. Through experimentation, I have learned to use digital technology such as rapid prototyping, which enabled me to create the pieces that I had envisaged. My graduate collection was inspired by nature and a curiosity of what lies beneath in the ocean, together with the same curiosity for what exists beyond planet Earth. The final pieces are based on a mythical sea creature which was made with black lacquered plastic and Swarovski crystals.
Signature pieces: All pieces were 3D printed in plastic with a lacquered effect covered in crystals.
The Kind of Person I Have in Mind When Designing: I imagine a person with an eccentric style, such as Lady Gaga.
My Collection in Five Words: Extraterrestrial, Eccentric, Quirky, Dynamic, Conceptual.
Collection Highlight: That I’ve developed a collection consisting of eight pieces.
Designers/Labels I Admire: Alexander McQueen.
Plans/Hopes for the Future: I have a strong desire to eventually create a design label of my own, after the necessary education and industry experience. Designing jewelry is based on many areas, such as the economy, social factors and an ever growing change in the desires of the target market. I have learned a great deal about these areas, and have designed a project with this in mind.
