Meet the Menswear Dog

Meet Bodhi. He’s a menswear model – with a difference. That’s right; New York’s new face is actually a shiba inu, who’s been taking the Internet by storm with his menswear Dog fashion blog (mensweardog.tumblr.com). Styled by owners Dave Fung and Yena Kim, this sartorial canine models a range of chic menswear ensembles for the camera, accompanied by styling tips and suggested product pieces for fans to get the look themselves. Championing a smart take on masculine dressing, Bodhi appears to have an eye for quality tailoring, favoring pieces like herringbone blazers and oxford shirts by such names as Levi’s, Polo Ralph Lauren and J. Crew. Men, take note: if Bodhi can look this good, then so can you!

Once again the FASHION INDUSTRY displays how DESPERATE it is for ideas and its continual grandiose lack of integrity. This is a dog. Dogs don’t wear clothes. He looks humiliated. The fashion industry TREND-HOPPED upon the back of Native Americans in 2011. Taking a culture’s historical symbolism, tweaking it, and selling it as your own is just lazy. Are you going to disrespect ANIMALS this year? Who will be this industry’s next victims? This entire industry behaves more ridiculous every season, every year. It is near impossible to take the fashion industry seriously any more. Where are your ETHICS? Bean counters and children seem to be running this industry. Wise up. Dig deeper. Stop skimming the surface for ideas, stop trend hopping and step back. Start giving design depth, integrity, and meaning again. There is alot to be said for the HISTORY of self adornment. Dig deeper. .And, take the clothes off the dog.
