J.W. ANDERSON TO DESIGN COLLECTION FOR VERSUS

Breaking News! Irish designer J.W. Anderson is set to create a capsule collection for Versus next year, which will include ready-to-wear styles for both men and women, in addition to accessories.

Speaking about the range alongside Donatella Versace earlier this morning, Anderson revealed that he was particularly inspired by an image (pictured) from a Versus campaign shot by Bruce Weber in 1996.

“For me, this iconic image says it all – that’s how I see Versus. It’s all about the relationship between a boy and a girl, a girl and a girl, a boy and a boy. Purity,” said the designer.

Following the departure of creative director Christopher Kane earlier this month, Versace’s sister label Versus announced their intention to enlist a selection of up-and-coming young talent to collaborate with (of which Anderson will be the first), in the interest of repositioning the brand.

J.W. Anderson’s Versus collection will be revealed at a New York presentation next spring.
