UNIQLO has announced a collaborative design project with acclaimed designer Jun Takahashi. The UU collection for Fall/Winter 2012-13 is set to launch on Thursday, August 23, with heavier winter lines launching at the end of September, and brings together Takahashi’s essence of design with UNIQLO’s innovative technology and refined simplicity.
Under the direction of Mr. Takahashi, UNIQLO signature fabrics and materials such as those used in its HEATTECH line of garments and its Ultra Light Down jackets are fashioned into fresh and original designs. The UU collection conceptualizes the cosiness and warmth of winter family lifestyle, portraying this through soft layered items in a warm palette of greens, navys, burgundys and taupes. Two tone panel detailing is channelled throughout men’s and women’s cashmere knitwear and flannel shirting, with plush premium down-filled coats and jackets for both on offer.
For the first time ever, UNIQLO UK will be including footwear in its UU line up, with a specially designed trainer available in two colour ways.
