Chanel in Tokyo

For three days in March, Chanel is focusing its creative efforts on Tokyo, in a bid to raise its Japanese and global profile while supporting the Far Eastern nation following the Tsunami which happened a year earlier in March 2011.
For the three week days between March 21 and 23 a series of events and happenings co-ordinated by the French brand are designed to create a ballooning of awareness and good. On Wednesday March 21 the iconic Chanel jacket will be exhibited in the city as part of the run up to the global launch of the book The Little Black Jacket: Chanel’s Classic Jacket Revisited. The tome, which was written by Carine Roitfeld and Karl Lagerfeld contains Lagerfeld’s photo of famous people in the jacket. One hundred images from the book will be on show alongside the jacket in the exhibition.
The following day on Thursday March 22, the Spring 2012 Haute Couture collection (which will show in Paris on January 19) will be replayed note for note in the city and the trio of events concludes on Friday 23 with the opening of a pop up store, selling the RTW line and accessories.
