Tom Ford has released a video lookbook featuring a slideshow of his womenswear autumn/winter 2011/12 collection following its initial debut at London Fashion Week in February. Until now, the pieces have been shrouded in a strict embargo regularly enforced by Ford who prefers to publicize his work close-to-season.
A refined air of exclusivity has become the Tom Ford’s forte, and with an increasing number of luxury brands pushing their collections through the vastly accessible digital space, his strategy is one of the minority. However, the cloak and daggers certainly installs a sense of suspense and although nothing more has been released from the label thus far, a drip-feed reveal of the new collections will keep the fashion media on their toes.
The new range, modeled by Abbey Lee Kershaw, looks like it will be a heavily-textured mix of snakeskin coats, feathered clutches lace-bodied dresses and shaggy fur jackets. The minute-long slideshow is available to view on the designer’s website: www.tomford.com
